Scholarship Program
Annual
Since 2012, we have given almost $40,000 back to the community through student scholarship awards for native and non-native Spanish speakers.
Beginning in 2021, SHD awards scholarships to non-citizen Hispanic students who attend Bucks County Community College and demonstrate a financial need.

School Presentations
Ongoing
We offer FREE school presentations (in English or Spanish) on a variety of topics, such as Hispanic Heritage Month and Jobs for Spanish Majors.

Spanish Film Presentation
Annual
Once a year, we present a film in Spanish at the County Theater in Doylestown.

Group Trips
Ongoing
SHD members enjoy formal and impromptu gatherings together, whether to a restaurant, museum, theater or any other venue that is hosting a Hispanic-related event.

Noche Latina
Annual
This is our annual fundraiser, held in the fall. There's lots of food, music and good company... all for a wonderful cause!

Scholarship Committee
Each year, SHD donates scholarship awards to local students who demonstrate advanced or native fluency in both written and spoken Spanish. An awards ceremony is held in the Spring.

Fundraising Committee
We aim to support our scholarship and outreach programs through donations from community members, local businesses, and corporate matching. All donations are
tax-deductible.

Outreach Committee
Led by Melissa Harrison
Our goal is to work together with other organizations to educate our local Hispanic community about the resources available to them, while also promoting bilingual literacy and learning in
Spanish and English.

Publicity Committee
Led by Susan Lee-Miller
Updates on social media, press releases and monthly communication with SHD members are all a part of the publicity committee, along with taking pics for the photo gallery.
