What We Do
For more information about the following activities, contact firstname.lastname@example.org
Every Tuesday @ 11:30am-1:00pm
All are welcome to join this FREE Spanish conversation group at DelVal Market.
One Friday each month @ 7:30pm
Tertulias are informal gatherings where we share and discuss Hispanic culture. For SHD members.
Since 2012, we have donated over $30,000 back to the community through student scholarship awards for native and non-native Spanish speakers. This year's scholarships will be awarded in May 2020. (The 2021 application will be available online in the Fall.)
We offer FREE school presentations (in English or Spanish) on a variety of topics, such as Hispanic Heritage Month and Jobs for Spanish Majors.
Spanish Film Presentation
Once a year, we present a film in Spanish at the County Theater in Doylestown.
SHD members enjoy formal and impromptu gatherings together, whether to a restaurant, museum, theater or any other venue that is hosting a Hispanic-related event.
This is our annual fundraiser, held in the Fall. There's lots of food, music and good company... all for a wonderful cause!
Led by Daisy Rodríguez
Each year, SHD donates scholarship awards to high school seniors who have demonstrated advanced or native fluency in both written and spoken Spanish. An awards ceremony is held in the Spring.
Led by Heidi Roux
We aim to increase donations from community members, local businesses and corporate matching, in order to raise funds to help support our scholarship and outreach programs. All donations are tax-deductible.
